Closure of DRDA1 Residue Dump Area
From September 2017 to September 2019, Haukes N.V., as joint venture partner of Baitali Aanneming Maatschappij N.V., contributed to the closure of the DRDA1 residue dump area. For this large-scale project, 1,000,000 m³ of cover soil was carefully placed over a 225-hectare site, representing an important milestone in the responsible management and rehabilitation of industrial waste areas. The project required extensive planning, coordination, and execution to meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance. Closure RDA5B residue dump area.
Since August 2024, Haukes N.V. has been actively involved in the closure of the RDA5B South residue dump area, in close collaboration with its partners. For this ongoing project, 250,000 m³ of cover soil is being carefully placed over a 42-hectare site, contributing to the sustainable management, closure, and rehabilitation of industrial waste areas. The project emphasizes careful planning, continuous monitoring, and the application of safe and efficient construction methods to minimize environmental impact. Closure of DRDA2 Residue Dump Area
From September 2019 to March 2022, Haukes N.V., together with Baitali Aanneming Maatschappij N.V. and Suriname Earth Moving Company N.V. (SEMC), successfully contributed to the closure of the DRDA2 residue dump area. In this important project, 835,000 m³ of cover soil was placed over a 139-hectare site, marking a significant step in the sustainable rehabilitation and responsible management of industrial wastelands. This project required careful execution, strict adherence to safety protocols, and close collaboration between all partners to ensure success.
